G3s have got to be my favourite generation of ponies (don't tell the others!)
Being only 2 in 2003, I was too young to catch the originals, or to really be interested in them, so I ended up with three official g3s, a handful of fakies, and a single McDonald's pony. These were Periwinkle, Magic Marigold, and Wind Drifter. Oh, and bedding and a watch! I still have them today and they are proudly on display in the pony room. I started adding to my collection in 2010 when I asked friends if they had any they no longer wanted. I managed to get a total collection of 11, and the next year, another friend sold me her collection, a whole bag full of ponies, including my first g1s! it was so exciting, especially as I'd barely seen, never mind held a real g1! The ponies were brought downstairs, tipped onto the living room floor, and played with for hours! Although, many now have dry hair - due only to my over-enthusiastic daily brushing! In 2012 I began going to car boot sales and checking charity shops, again, something very exciting to me as I had never done either! In fact, they are both still exciting events now, you never know if your'e going to find something awesome! I have got a whole lot of my collection this way. Excluding doubles, I would say, the first couple years (2010 - 2012) were mainly ponies from friends, then the next few (2012 - 2016) were mainly from car boot sales and charity shops, and from then on, most of my new g3 additions are from UK PonyCon and Ebay. I put this down the fact that there are so many g3s that we didn't get, and therefore I find buying from collectors the easiest way to find the ones I don't have, as they're almost impossible to find secondhand here! If we talk doubles, then car boots are definitely in the lead! They're definitely a cheaper option too! Above is a photo of my G3s from 2015! I must take an updated one at some point! Below I'll add some old pictures of my collection! |
